Your period reflects the balance in your body and mind. In this workshop you will learn the Ayurvedic perspective on the menstrual cycle and how you can use yoga, lifestyle and nutrition to maintain balance and reduce menstrual symptoms. Balanced menstruation also lays a fertile ground when you are considering pregnancy. For example, Ayurveda recommends three symptom-free periods before conception in order to give the best start to your pregnancy and the development of a new life.

This 4-hour workshop is for all menstruating women without or with menstrual complaints and for women who want to prepare for pregnancy.
Learn to support and balance your menstruation through yoga, nutrition and lifestyle. This workshop is a combination of theory about menstruation from an Ayurvedic perspective and specific yoga movements and breath work. You will also receive information about nutrition and kitchen remedies that help balance you and your menstruation.

In this workshop you will learn:
- Basics of Ayurveda: the three doshas vata, pitta and kapha in relation to the
menstrual cycle
- Yoga practices and breath work
- Tips related to diet & lifestyle

It is recommended to bring pen and paper, and you will receive a handout with theory and additional information.

Menopause Awareness with Yoga & Ayurveda

Conscious attention to and information about menopause is a first step in taking good care of yourself care during the period of perimenopause. The transition from your fertile years to the non-fertile years is a period of fluctuations in your hormones and changes in your brain and nervous system. These changes can cause all kinds of symptoms - physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

In this workshop, we will dive into the theory of menopause from Ayurvedic and Western perspective. You will learn what happens to the three bio forces (vata, pitta and kapha), as well as with the seven body tissues (dhatus). Ayurveda sees transition as an opportunity, a “rite of passage” in which you have the opportunity for deeper self-insight and personal growth.

With this information as a foundation, you will learn how to support yourself during perimenopause through yoga movements and breath work. The practice of yoga in general already has tremendous many beneficial effects for menopause, and during this workshop you will learn the application of specific yoga and breathing exercises that are specifically helpful during this period. You will receive numerous tools to use at home to help you move smoothly through the transition.
This 4-hour workshop is for all women going through menopause regardless of whether it came early, late or through a medical procedure. Also for women who are not yet in transition but want to prepare for this period, this workshop is very appropriate.
